Hello Warner, nice to see you at FHC.

I have to second and third some of the fellas that have already chimed in with regards to Woodstock.
Great company that makes a great number of stoves. They will be there from beginning to end taking
care of all the questions and needs of each person.

As you can see I used Ideal steel in my screen name, it's an amazing stove that does the job for our family
day in and day out through the entire burn season.

I heat a 2000 sq ft home, a victorian farmhouse built in 1880. The stove is located on the first floor in the
dining room and is considered central as far as placement is concerned. Our chimney is located in the rear 1/3
of the house and I used that to run an insulated liner into. I have no problem keeping the first floor in the low
70's and the upstairs will get into the mid to high 70's. A typical winter (not like last year) I will burn between
3.5-4 cords, including the shoulder season.

The hybrid technology of the woodstock stoves (there are a few models) is simple once you get the hang of it.
During the 24/7 times of the heating season, reloads tend to be a simple chore and once it's done the stove
will do all the work until the time comes for another reload. In the early parts of the cooler days but not quite
cold yet, I can get 12-14 hrs per load. In the cold days its more like 8-10 hrs per reload, that will get you warm
inside temps and a decent coal bed.

    Good luck with your search

Thanks for the info, we have similar situation except my chimney is in the center of the house. Heating about 2k square feet.
Next Saturday is free for us so I'm gonna try to bait the wife into going for a ride and just "happen" to go by the Woodstock factory. I'm hoping the art work will attract her to an absolute or ideal. I like the heat and 8-10 hour burn don't care much about the looks.
Maybe they will do some sort of layaway so I can get my wood stash in order.
