Pallet Pete , how about starting a running canning thread in the smokehouse? I think it would be a great place to share pics, recipes and be a great resource.

"VERY tempted to tip the cart over.."
Your a better man than me Pete. That is exactly what I would have done.

I had my falling out with Walmart 5 years ago when I bought my wife one of those Shark cleaning machines. I paid for it, walked 15' to the door, and was accosted by the clerk stationed at the door. She wanted to see my receipt. I was in a chitty mood and said NO and kept on walking. I was grabbed by security before I got to my truck. Showed them the receipt and they said ok. I turned around, went to the return desk and got more hassle trying to return the unit. It was paid for on the credit card. At one point I turned to walk out telling them I will deal with the credit card company. They had the product back. They then accepted the return.

I told them I would never set foot in a Walmart again. That was 5 years ago and I have kept my promise.

I was raised in an era where it was a privilege for the store to have the customer shop there. Not a privilege for the customer to be able to shop at their store. Just my old fashion values.
    Off my soapbox now.

    My turn.
    I hate Microsux 10!
Our laptop has MS 10 OS...I really dislike it compared to MS7...and after last night I HATE it!
We have Verizon wireless for internet service...16GB package...more than enough most months as long as we don't watch much video.
The laptop has been acting glitchy and slow lately...there has been an update on deck and last night I finally let it do it. The update said it would take a while and that the computer would turn off/on a few times...I thought hmm, that's unusual.
Anyways, once it was done things seem to be running better. Because the update took so long I decided to see how much data it used. (I keep an eye on it) The day before "data used in the last 30 days" was around 6GB...after the update it was 21GB!!! That stinkin PIZZES me off! Smoked all our whole months data package plus 5 gigs (at $15 per for the extra gigs BTW!)
MS says you don't have to do the updates...but if you don't, you could open yourself up to all kinds of mayhem...and if you put it off too long they make it so your computer runs slow. I wish they would let you know how much data an update was gonna use ahead of time! Dang it! :headbang:

Went and saw the black barn band last night and somebody kept buying drinks for me. 11% backwoods basterd beer. I was stopping at two but they kept coming to the table. I told the waitress I didn't order them and she said it was paid for but wouldn't say who.

Well now I'm hung over as all bleeeeeeeppppp!

I don't know if they where being nice or trying to give me hell this morning lol.

Good morning all. Last day before work starts. Overcast and rainy this morning. Town is having a festival. I don't think the parade got rained on yesterday. All four towns in the area have summer festivals over different weekends and each of them had the threat of rain. Gorgeous weather in between. Not that we don't need the rain as it has been really dry this summer. Blackberries aren't ripe yet.

Nice day out, much nicer than I anticipated. I finally cut the grass and weed whacked the edges. Then thought it would be a good idea to split some wood. I dispached 3 large rounds of maple that had been sitting around for a while and tossed em in the stacks. I'm definitely not in my optimal maul swinging "shape"

Yeah, today was much nicer than yesterday. Humidity yesterday was not pretty - nor was the sweat literally dripping down my face and out of my hair. And, I wasn't hardly doing anything and was in the shade just planting a few shrubs. Sounds harder than it was. Was planting them where the earth was recently dug up and redistributed a couple of months ago, so digging was easy (plus, lots of sand in there).
