We spent a few days up in the White Mountains and got to see a lot of the beautiful state. First day we rented a UTV for a half day and tooled around Jericho Mountain state park. We had a great time negotiating the trails. A couple of death grip moments for the family, but the UTV was a Billy goat and ha dled everything just fine. These machine can take a beating. Gorham and Berlin NH allow OHRV's on the public streets, and we had a few minute drive from the shop to the park. Up top of Jericho Mt at the windmills. Main trails were plenty wide, crowned in the middle. Smaller trails were one way. A few were two-way that should have been one way, but hard to negotiate and speed was low. Trail map was good as long as you turned the map as needed and verified junctions. All trails were marked, and phone GPS worked if needed. Last trail out was under construction, so it was a bit rough at the top. Me with the little goober photo-bombing the pic. Cathedral Ledge. Awesome views. There is a road to the top. Crawford Notch. One of my favorite places to stop. The pictures don't do it justice. This one is a pic of Sabbaday Falls. I modified the setting on my camera for sepia and adjusted the sharpness. I wanted an old postcard look to it so I can frame it at some point.
nice pics! Crawford Notch is one of my favorite spots too. Is that the spot where the pond would be in the foreground across the street from the visitor center? Cathedral Ledge is a great spot to catch the sunrise too. My inlaws have a house in Hales Location almost at the bottom of the ledge, so its one of my go to sunrise spots.
My wife and were up there back in the Spring. What a beautiful area! Some great people live up that way Well Seasoned
fishingpol Judy wanted me to give you a special thank you especially for that last picture you made for the postcard. She also said if you like that sort of thing you should see Michigan's UP.
I pm'd him a few times and he gave me some places to visit up there, which was really appreciated. We were just moving around so much trying to cram in a lot of stops. We will meet up another time no doubt.
Here is one more I changed the settings on. It is a farmhouse built in 1832 and is now a NPS historic site. It is the last remaining farm house in this particular area, and it has remained pretty much unchanged through the years. It was heated with a coal stove and fireplace. Very interesting story. Say hi to Judy for me.
Actually, I did this on my phone under the "studio" options in pictures. A little tweak on the sharpness made it old timey.
Love the pictures. I haven't been over there since my mother passed. She always wanted to go for a ride. NH is always good for a place to go for long rides. My photo editing programs allows me to convert to sepia or B&W very easily. So I usually take pictures using the automatic function, then edit in the program later. In my mind, snow pictures are particularly impressive in sepia.
