We had some nasty storms move through around 4am. The lightening was pretty intense, and the wind was blowing!
We've had a nice day so far, 79 with 51 percent humidity with a nice breeze. We might have some rain coming in but nothing with heavy rainfall.
Way up north in Alaska they could be getting their first snow at 6,000-7,000 feet. We should have our first snowfall around or before Thanksgiving.
Well Seasoned , a bunch of the worst storms are staying well north of us or starting to get bad in Vermont, we still might get some. Real early this morning we had a quick heavy rain with some thunderstorms, half an inch of rain real quick. Stay Safe.
I remember that one year we had around 22 inches the week before Thanksgiving so we road the sleds on our property for almost a week before it turned 60 and lost all our snow. I do think we'll get hit with a snowstorm before Thanksgiving.
We just got hit pretty good. Alot of cloud to ground lightening, no rain and the windows were still open. I was on my recliner, next to 2 windows, Dawn was across the room on the couch facing the windows. Lightening - BOOM! I heard the electric! Moments later - still no rain, we both smell burning, oh chit we're thinking. I get up to look out front, and all i hear is either wind or heavy rain coming. It was rain - heavy thank God, because a tree out back must have been hit and ignited. Hopefully the rain put it out because the smell went away, but then again, i closed all the windows. I'll have to inspect things when this passes!
PRECIPITATION (IN) TODAY 0.02 MONTH TO DATE 4.73 SINCE JUN 1 10.06 SINCE JAN 1 18.21 1 to 2 inches more through midnight tonight.
Another system heading this way, the winds aren't real bad but it's bringing heavy rain again. The below info is from NOAA. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
There is a pretty nasty cell heading straight for us. The storm from earlier in Vt is moving pretty fast.
