Just discovered this thread. I played in a rock band back in the late 60s and then got into country when a group of guys at work would play for nursing homes. Really enjoyed it. About 2 years ago my carpol tunnel got so bad I could not fret the guitar. I just had surgery 2 weeks ago and hope I can start playing again. I have a Hohner 6 string and a Hohner 12 string. I also have an Alvarez 5 string. I had a 70's Telecaster that I hadn't played in years. When the carpol tunnel set in, I took it to the shop to get worked on. I figured it would be easier fretting. The shop owner offered me a price I couldn't refuse for it and I sold it. Wish I had it back. Time will tell if I can get back into it. I will be following this thread.
I know a fellow that had the surgery a couple years ago, if you want to call it that. He had 2 tiny slits on his arm. He was back to normal in less than a week. You'll be playing before you know it.
Thank you Uncle Joe. Still a little soar. Wrist is a little stiff, but overall I am pleased. Not a real good patient so I have been pushing it. Haven't picked up the guitar yet, but give it another week or some and we will try.
i dont play any thing, but i have 4 mates that are in a pop group and they have been on the tv a lot of times here in england, they got to number 2 in the pop charts.that was in about 1984.they now play a lot in germany.
Jack Straw Scott and I got together yesterday and decided to try this. This was our second take. Kinda rough but we're going to work on it and add it to our rotation. For those of you that don't know, this is where Jack Straw's screen name comes from.
Spent last weekend in upstate NY with 8 other pickers for a get together. We go around in a circle and take turns playing. Here's UncleJoe in one of his turns in the hot seat.
