No worries- corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup are two separate things, with the high fructose variety being the bad guy.

For the record, I didn't buy any syrup. Luckily we had a bottle of Pure Maple syrup in the cupboard.

    Freeze it!
If you got room you can spare enough of the jug to use a little at a time but it keeps indefinitely when frozen. It also doesn't freeze all the way, but if its in that iconic jug, suggest you maybe put it in a really durable Tupperware so its easy to spoon out? Good luck and enjoy that gallon!!:drool: Substitute for sugar in your coffee or tea if you need another " excuse "to use it.

As long as you keep those darned tiny ants out of it!:hair:
I've never had the really small ants before.

I stacked this winters firewood next to the basement door in June, been wondering if the ants are coming from the wood. I keep a couple cords of kiln dried kindling in the basement, they could be in there also, but that has been in there for 4 years and no ants...
Better get the Home Defense Max out...

Don't wanna get this off topic too much...now that you brought it up
Ive been wondering about a more thorough way to get into the spots of the house, gonna fog my house soon but if you know a more thorough way besides the stuff that just settles where it flies. Perhaps a fumigator rather than a fogger for the places underneath furniture? I feel like thats one place where the stuff doesn't do well.

C'mon man, I'm right up the road from ya......and you KNOW I got lots of Pennsylvania Gold (aka 100% pure, wood-fired maple syrup) here at the house.....if you want a bottle, I can hook you up.

The Amish stands over in the valley have it for sale VERY REASONABLE, try the Creekside Produce stand by the golf course......;)

Ok question time. What sub species of maple tree produces the best syrup? There are very few maple trees within a 100 mile radius of me. So i dont have this knowledge. Can you use it when comes out of the tree?

Sugar Maple Makes The Best Syrup.

It Comes out of tree as sap. Collection is in late winter. Its Almost waterlike. One must boil it down to make syrup. 40 Gallons of sap will make 1 Gallon of syrup. Its time and wood consuming, hence the high prices.
