We returned safely from our vacation in Daytona, however woodcutting is currently on hold. I can't do any kind of aerobatics when I jump in a pool. So, I thought, let's do them underwater....I did an underwater backflip, yay...did an underwater front flip, now there's fluid in my right ear and I have an ear infection, and it sounds like someone trying to pull crank a chainsaw from all the fluttering. Needless to say, no woodcutting. But we had fun lol

If any of you have never been to Daytona Beach, it's an absolutely wonderful place to go.

Once this ear infection leaves I've got my eyes on some wood to go slicing and dicing on.

Ear infections are no fun, I started to get them a lot when I was younger and now I just try to never go underwater as it's not worth it. Good news is you will be cutting wood soon!!

I too used to get that when swimming but we rarely have gone swimming now for years. Still, I have the ear problem. Not fun.

Wifey had to work today so the only wood I cut was for my smoker. This is what today is holding for us. Got a chuck roast smoking away and the neighbors are currently getting a dose of Randy Travis.

I had ear infections when I was a kid but a doctor told my parents to put a drop of rubbing alcohol in each of my ears after swimming. It would break the surface tnsion of any water in my ears and help to dry them out. Worked great and didn't hurt.

That looks awesome!. You said it was beef? What cut, poundsand for how long on the smoker?

I"ve smoked lots of pork butts and ribs, and some brisket, but nothing that looks like pulled beef. I'd love to give it a try.

One of the most miserable pains I ever had in my entire life was an inner ear infection....

Get well soon buddy, fall (and prime splitting season) is just around the corner

Almost any meat can be used the same way as pulled pork to make a delicious meal. We recently did some chicken breasts in the crock pot and then pulled it and added in a variety of beans and spicing to make a great casserole dish. We have done much the same thing using stewing beef and also had great results. Get creative out there and make some tasty meals. I am sure the chicken or the beef would have been a good starting place to add in BBQ sauces and make sandwiches but we try to avoid too much bread in our diet.

Second most aggravating thing to an ear infection is a kidney stone. Those just suck.

Thanks for the comments! I love to bbq. It was a 2 pound chuck roast cooked about 6 hours I think. Smoked it 2.5, then put it in a pan with some beef broth and wrapped it up with foil. They make for great sandwiches or a quick meal with rice... lunch the next day was a scrambled egg mixed with the remaining beef and rice. Was actually quite tasty. Seasoning was just cracked pepper, sea salt in large granule form, chili powder, garlic powder, brown sugar and paprika.

Man I'm loving this forum. You guys are awesome.
