I have direct vent as well and its getting near end of life. Do you have a vent blower or does your boiler not need one?

Mine has a blower and I would rather not need one.

No more than the combustion blower on the pellet eater.

Given the cost of the blower and the noise, I think I would lean towards spending a little extra on a direct vent boiler that doesnt require one. From what I understand the difference in cost of the boiler is equal or less than the cost of the blower setup.

If I had NG option I would seriously check that out, but bottled LPG-no thanks. Gas dryer and range/oven would be nice though

One of those. The furnace is only the 2nd of 6 projects I need to complete before I retire. I care a lot.

Woman I work with is having a new gas unit put in on Thursday. Its all on demand unit that hangs on the wall for both HW and heat. I forget how much she said it was costing but it was pricey.

This is the reason I started drawing SSA while working full time. I need to get this stuff done now and it gives me the extra money to afford it.

I remember back when you were hunting for a certain type of oil fired unit. What one did you settle on.

Good luck with your hunt. If I had my way, we would have gone with the heat pumps, but the plumber convinced my son that we should do otherwise.
