Sounds like we have the same job buddy. I find a pair of carina loggers lasts me a year, not the water proof ones either, they make my feet sweat. Just plain unlined. What brand of equipment do you sell or service? We are a Delaval and Patz dealer. Good day Sir. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I like the Hall's 10" logger boots. They have a stiched on agressive sole and are gortex. They are actually made right here in Roaring Springs Pennsylvania. The retail store price I believe is in the $240 range. But they sell the factory 2nds in the companies outlet store for $120! And there's never anything real bad wrong with them. Something like a scratch or a spot of glue on the leather! Check them out on the Hall's web site the model numbers for the boots are 356W, 357W, and 358W the only difference in the models are steel toed non steel toed and insulated! If you get a pair I don't think that you'll be disappointed!
Aw come on it's not that bad. Although I still recommend trying them on and giving them a good walk around before purchasing just like any boot that you buy!
We are a GEA / Westpahlia Surge dealer but we repair any brand the Farmers call and need repaired if we can. We do full parlor installs all the way up to Robots, Rotories, and full slide in parlors down to parlor upgrades on smaller farms. We also do other farm work as well as full service and on call work. I really enjoy working here its never the same thing twice. On call nights can be a challenge but if thats the worst thing we have to deal with ill gladly do it. We dont see much PATZ around here but we are on very good terms with DeLaval guys they are a good bunch. My buddy Aaron works for Delaval too or did last I knew.
I'm on my second pair of Thorogood steel toe boots, I believe they're made in Wisconsin. I'm very happy with them I'm on my feet 8 hrs a day.
Pete I get all my boots from these guys , been dealing with them for years Good stuff and good prices. I wear Hiking boots for work , I've been able to find all leather stitched soles , some Gortex lined too Sierra Trading Post – We Are All Explorers
When I worked construction I wore Carolina loggers. They would last me about a year. You have to read the label on the tongue though, not all of their models are USA made. I always went with the USA made models and they were comfortable and held up really well.
The cove shoe company in Roaring Springs Pa actually make alot of styles of Carolinas! Yes you are right there are some models made in China.
My hands down favorite USA made boots that I have had are the Carolina 1809 boots and the ones I'm wearing currently which are the Thorogood wedge sole boots. Both equally comfortable, and by far the most comfortable boots I have owned. These 2 are lace ups but they may make a Wellington style boot similar to them, it would definitely be worth looking into. I have had red wings and didn't care for them, timberlands that fell apart very quickly but weren't too bad for comfort, and some Justin "western style" work boots that feel like strapping a board to your foot and walking on it all day.
Well I had it out with Georgia boot and told them how ticked I am with there lowered quality of boot after all the years of wearing them and just received another pair free. I have time to look around some more now so I am going to research the living daylights out of what you all suggested and figure out which to buy. In the meantime I just treated the replacement boots with the LP cream and man does the leather soak it up and look much better... pic coming
I switched to Danner about a year ago after trying every boot under the sun. I had been wearing wolverine Durashocks for many years. Went to buy a pair and they quit making extra wides in the boot I liked . I never got more than a year out of those. Bought a pair of Danner Viscous about a year ago and they are still in awesome shape. They are wide and very comfortable. Just bought a pair of their hunting boots. Just came UPS the other day. Haven't tried them on yet.
