Way back when started with a electric Wren, then a refurbed Poulan, added a Dolmar 116si, then a Dolmar 7900 , dang things have been multiplying ever since. So now the big end is a 084 and bottoms out with a echo at 34 cc, with a short bed full in between. ( yep CAD)

I have added another Echo top handle and still have my old 350 Husqvarna, but neither has seen any work yet or for a while.

At times, I regret not going to a 562 instead of a 550, but I got by for years with only a 50cc. Price was a factor in this decision at the time. The 2166 is a great saw and comes out when big diameters or a lot of bucking is necessary. I won't ever be without a top-handle saw. Light enough to be carried around in the woods or up a ladder, but just enough guts (34cc) to get some bigger stuff done if needed also. The 550 is my new workhorse. It's the saw that I almost always have with me and my official "tractor saw". I run an 18" bar on it. 50cc is just a sweet spot for what I do between weight, power and handling. I consider it to be the perfect size for general duties.

If only allowed 2 saws, I'd keep the top handle and the 550.

    90cc my man, 90cc.

    MS661CM or maybe a Husky 390.

I want a 90cc but with the MMWS MS441CM and a couple 100cc+ vintage muscle saws, it's hard to justify the purchase. Like that has EVER stopped me.....

I used to put supper on the table selling saws, trimmers, blowers, mowers, tractors, UTVs, etc.

And yeah, I was good at it. ($1M annual gross) I did ok filling up my apartment fridge but it certainly wouldn't support my family now unless maybe I owned the biz. Too bad as I really enjoyed it and still like to play with the product!

Thank you, that's exactly what I was thinking too. Hopefully no time soon though, 1 tank of fuel since port work and the 353 piston.

IMG_0516.JPG I'm mulling over an option, so far without a peer check. Input is requested.
I've got the 353, that has served well for the last 9 years, but really started to laydown in the last 1.5 years. The chain would just stop with any medium rotation in the log.
Late this winter I bought the 562xp. So far very low hours so I can't fairly say anything about except so far it's great.
This spring I got a 350 for free that needed a cylinder in let seal replaced. I put a 16" bar on it and it cuts Great!
I decided to replace the plug and jug on the 353 and went to a non cat muffler so I'd have three goodn's. But the 353, although better, still seems tired. The 350 will run circles around it.

I'm thinking trying sell the 350 and 353 for what I can get and buy a 550xp with a 16".
    Right now 562xp is 20, 353 is 18 and 350 is 16.

Get the 353 fixed. It should be an awesome little saw.

It certainly was in it prime.
I did use it to mill for the wood shed and I think that croaked it. There was decent score on the cylinder and piston so I replaced them, OEM.
I've replaced the clutch and modified it with a non cat muffler. Still doesn't have near the nads it used to and a lot less than the throw away 350 with the electrical tape covering the hole in the cover.
I'd love for it to come back to life. I haven't touched the lower half and I haven't replaced the fuel line, which I should have as a cheap and easy.
Aside from that, why would this stop in a high torque situation. Engine runs, but chain stops.

What is compression after the new jug? A 350 shouldn't out cut it. When you replaced the clutch, what kind of shape was the drum in?

I have decided to expand to a third saw so I am one of those people putting together a fake MS660. Now my lineup will be Husky 555, Stihl 026 for when the Husky gets stuck and that FarmerTec 660 for the rare big work. The 555 will still be doing almost all of the work because it is able to do it and I don't own a light weight 40cc or so saw.
