Well, beings were surrounded on three sides with water, it's a "good" possibility...

Very typical in MI for the maple and cherry leaves to turn early. Depending upon the area, I've seen lots of color in July, especially when we lived near Gaylord, or west of papadave

I think the El nino, La nina has a lot to do with it.

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

It is the Alberta clippers that roll through every few days that can make for a long winter.

Come to think of it, there is usually some oddball limb or tree that has given up it's color by now. Haven't seen any...at all.

Been seeing more and more here. This morning I spotted one limb of a witch hazel that looked like they usually get in October.

I think you'll be needing that tractor this winter to pile snow 20ft high. ;) You and Zap!

I propose that the first to get below freezing and snow needs to host a "Defy Winter" party, and submit a photo grilling out while wearing Bermuda shorts, a grass skirt, coconut bra and Hawaiian Lei around their neck. I'd totally host it, but I have a feeling that you guys north of the Mason Dixon line are gonna beat me to it when it comes to snow...:thumbs:

At the same time, I'm hoping that Stephanie Abrams the weather gal is a member of the Club, and it snows first wherever she may be!

Brother, I wish we had had some of your freezes/frosts...the bugs, namely mosquitoes and gnats have been killing us this summer!

yeah last 4 days no rain ... been a wet year.. yesterday hottest day of year so far.. 87 degrees.. I turned on AC .. I couldn't take it

current temp 76 will drop to 64 by 10 tonight. . only downside is winter can be loooong... not uncommon to have snow showers on halloween.. those costumes here have to go over jackets... in short Cinderella wears boots not slippers..

usual is to have white on thanksgiving and easter...

We don't live in the snow zone so not usually a problem here. East of us, west of us and north of us and even sometimes south of us gets more snow than we do. But the tractor and FEL could come in handy if we do have one of the rare heavy snow winters.

WE'd probably have to look at bogydave or yooperdave for the early stuff.

That's usually when we start seeing the snow showers too. Sometimes maybe a week or so earlier but most times it will be later. Halloween most times turns out to be cold here too.

    It's gonna be Winter.

I'll be tired of global warming being blamed for everything not "normal" by Dec 22.

Three big storms this winter for your area, I heard that fishingpol bought a few extra shovels and another ladder so he can set the ladders up in the front & back of the house before winter starts.

    no

    :shiver::BrianK::fart::hair:

I have a trip planned for Fall and a trip planned for Spring. I'm here for the duration this Winter as of today.
    No escaping, no snow-birding.
No need for the snow blower will be fine with me. I want to keep busy cutting firewood.

Was it last year they said the 2016/17 winter was going to be very cold and snowy?
