Here is tree job I started yesterday....it has 2-smaller walnuts, a decent sized willow, and 2-bushes....I cut and cleared the 2-small walnuts out and cut bushes down also....I started hacking away at the willow, cut some of the bigger branches off....I have a Jameson pole saw due to arrive any day, and I have to use it to keep branches off the shed...

On a side note, its surprising that willow wood isn't harder than it is....just a small branch is loaded with leaves, and actually pretty damm heavy.....

Here are the pics....I also am doing this job with only my ol trusty ms250, (I have been running a 16" picco set-up and it rips on this saw!!!)..I will only use the ms461 for 2-3 stump end cuts....

Haven't posted in this thread before but I just went around the yard with the cord calculator and totaled up all the wood I have stacked and it came out to 50 cords. :bug:

You can read about how I went about doing this in some of the threads I started and are listed in orange at the bottom of this post in the signature section

The first pics are stacks that are 2pallets deep

This pic shows cherry which I've been saving in the front row
There are two more pallet rows of split oak behind the cherry in the background you can see other wood. I'll post those pics next

    Depends 5-6 cords?
In addition to that I give wood to my neighbor
My son in law is a NYC firefighter and I alway split wood for him
I must say, on his way home from work, he loves to back in this pickup and I put a skid of wood in back and he's on his way

    Last of the pics
Funny if look at the pic with the big rounds rolling to the splitter
See the big checks in the end of the logs
When I split one of them there was a mouse living in the crack
The log was solid not punky

I'm new to using firewood, we have a gas fired heating system but there's lots of satisfaction in having your own wood supply. I have one multi fuel wood / coal burner in our Kitchen. Most of the time we use wood but put coal on when we want the thing on overnight. I live in an old converted Church BTW, 30 inch thick stone walls but single glazing on the ground floor.

    ...so the wood is essential.

    Regards, Phil
