I have an ash log I'd like to try the Swedish torch or candle tonight. Looks pretty simple any tips or is it as simple as cut log and light? I tend to overthink things sometimes. I'll be sure to post a pic once I get it going.
Yup. Pretty simple making them. I don't think anyone could screw one up. Crooked cut? Won't matter at all.
H I don't have a moisture meter but it's been in my yard for the better part of a year and it was long dead before it got here. And it's ash so I'm thinking it will be good
I cut one for my SisIL about 3-4 years ago and it's still sitting on her porch. Don't be like her. Not sure she knows how to use it.
Just some small kindling will work well too. Then as it burns out a little you can get even more in there.
Well I guess I have to figure out another way to post pics than Photobucket. If I'm reading correctly they want 400 bucks. You guys are good and all but that ain't gonna happen
A cast iron skillet with some steak on top of the torch wouldn't hurt either. Then toasted marshmallows.
Smores are a ritual on Friday nights at this house. Well I guess for the wifey and son, too sweet for me. I prefer the candy that comes in 12 ounce cans. Man I have never tried to cut a log lengthwise. Not easy. Not trying to be over dramatic here just sayin. I run a cs-680, I was working the saw a little harder than I like to. Tho my chain somehow got dull when my bud picked up the saw and "helped out". That could have a lot to do with it Props to those that mill with a chainsaw!
Yeah, I'm done with photobucket too. Don't know where I'm moving my pics to yet though. My adblocker blocks 60 ads there now as well. That's nuts.
You hit the nail on the head. I think I overestimated the dryness of my round. I ended up throwing a handful of charcoal briquettes in the center to salvage the mission.
