Got a text from my neighbor earlier Brad: "Hey, wanted to ask u, I have the stump grinder till 11. was gonna grind that stump out for u. just wanted to make sure that was ok" me: "Hell yeah " me: "You coming now?" Brad: "I'm here" Took out the ash stump the we took down in the yard with the new 171 Couldn't get a before pic, He was already grinding before i got there. and a few other small stumps on my path to the other neighbor's where I cut. No pics. They were just trip hazards and small stuff that the hitch on my quad would drag over. Just over Brad's shoulder above, you can see the big ash that needs to come down (bark peeled off.) Mrs TD was looking out the window earlier, and saw a big branch fall out of it and hit the ground. Neighbors says. "We gotta get that tree down" good neighbor! Thanks Brad
I cut the neighbors lawn for her, about 55 and widowed, kids come around but do not do much. My 1/4 acre and her 1/4 acre takes about 15 minutes on the 60 inch zero turn
Came home Tuesday from cutting grass all day and my 65 year old neighbor had cut my lawn for me. I've got tons of mowing equipment, and it only takes me 5 minutes, but it's nice to pop a beer when you get home instead of do more work for free. Then his wife handed me a pan of lasagna for dinner. Gotta love good people.
As I have mentioned before in other posts, my neighbors here are all great. We borrow tools and snowblower/plow each other out. They give me lots of downed trees, I give them veggies, and one neighbor keeps reminding that I should go shooting in his pit out back more often. So.....I built him a stand up target board out of plywood with a sturdy base out of 2X4's that won't fall over. You can just duct tape a new paper target on every time you shoot. And I rolled out a cable spool to use for a table to set your guns and ammo on so he doesn't have to use his tailgate any more. Great folks, loving life here in NH.
yup I got great neighbors... the farmer (60s), I have use of his woods behind my house.. basically rules are be respectful.. don't leave garbage.. don't cut live trees. leave it like you found it.. next are (70s).. they bring us food... if bad storms I snowblow them out... he tries to do it with 4 wheeler but that's not gonna move a foot of snow.. takes me 10 minutes.. if they need help drop a call vice versa.. his grand son is 20.. I let him drive kubota at 14 great kid... when your car doesn't start he picks up your daughter and brings her to school.. next across street granted half mile from my house great couple with 2 kids under 10.. mother grew up on dirt road I live on.. great parents.. kids ride in my fields and we snowmobile and stuff together... I can go on and on.. a few bad apples down a side road but it's great when good outnumber bad 20 to 1 Just yesterday went down to get a load of compost... from farmer manure pile.. dad across street asked me to brush trail for 9 year old I dropped manure went over and did it half an hour tractor half an house shooting the bull tried to pay me... no way.. good neighbor are a gift!
I was on the road a couple days ago and got a call from a neighbor. During our conversation I mentioned to him how frustrated I was that I could not get one of the filters off the new tractor. I've seen them tight before but this thing just would not budge. Shortly after I got home, he showed up. It took some doing but we finally got it off. I had not asked for help but he just showed up to help. Yes, good neighbors are a blessing.
I work at a Ford dealership, the original "factory" filters are always on wicked tight. You are not the only one that has battled with this. We have had vehicles towed here because someone poked a screwdriver through the filter in a last ditch effort to get it off
Oh yeah. I practically tore a filter in half once trying to get it loose with a big screwdriver. But I got it loose!
Another small town neighbor story, many times when I run down to the local store or Post Office, a 5 min trip, I come home 40 minutes later. my wife just looks at me and says, "so, who did you bump into this time?" Yeah, that's what ends up happening.
