I was over at one of the rancher's house the other day cut 4 stumps flush. The wife saw this one and wanted it. So new table for the front porch. I counted 62 growth rings. It is a old Elm and has been dead for quit awhile.
With it there I can put my feet up on it and smoke my pipe as I watch the storms blow through. Or I can put my beer on there and watch the sunset. Serves the purpose. I could cut it thin and put legs on it. With it like it is I do not have to worry about the wind blowing it away.
Wow. It would take years of cutting to get close to that sort of view around here! Beautiful! Not to get all deep and etc, but nature always has something amazing to show us if we take the time to look, doesn't she?
Nice pic of your firewood stacks. Shame you accidentally got some sky/fields in the picture, but it doesn't ruin it completely.
Cool table, fantastic view! And I'll give a "third" to the statement about how amazing nature is and what fantastic things lie right in front of us that many seem to look past every day...... Life is grand, if you don't take it for granted!
I'm glad you said that Dennis, because I was thinking it. Can't be many squirrels round those parts I'd imagine.
If you put legs on it, it could walk away, no? I like it though, and at least you don't have to split it. Being elm and all.
