    Most of these chainsaw/wood forums are all about wood stoves and us pellet users are laughed at. I laugh every time I load my pellet stove up and set the thermostat at 72 and forget about it for the day. My stove is a Heatilator PS35. My biggest complaint is with the digital thermostat the dealer replaced my factory t-stat with. It doesn't have enough of a differential so the stove shuts off when it reaches temp and will restart with in a minute. This makes it do funny things because the thermocouple is still hot. We use 4 tons a year to keep the house at 72-73 degrees all day long, all winter long in upstate NY.

    Pellets are made from......wood. Wood is cut down with.......chainsaws. You physically fill the appliance with your wood product and enjoy the heat and the flame.....I see TOTAL AND COMPLETE relevance with woodburners here, CA. Welcome and glad to have you. And yes, you MAY want to hide your beer around here!:smoke:

    As for your Stat? If it restarts that soon. Then the stove doesn't really need to shut down. Have you tried just running the stove manually? Set the stat for a much higher temp (78°). Then run a setting lower and never let it stop, or lower the feed gate a 1/4"?

    Otherwise, get a cheap Lux 500 with a 4° swing. That way it shuts down for an hour or so.

    Glad you joined over here and I am surprised you even remembered me. I honestly appreciate that.

    Welcome to the nut-hut, chity!

    I burned pellets for 16 years before getting the wood stove. Both have their pluses and minuses. I do miss the convenience of not having to reload more than once a day. Nothin' like wood heat, no matter how you burn it.

    Bottle or glass for me. Cans, not so much. Not that I'm a big beer drinker, but when I do want one, I enjoy it. :)
