A guy at work gave me four saws. He said they all worked last he used them but couldn't get them to start this year. He said they probably have 3 year old ethanol gas in them. I'm hoping the carbs just need cleaned. A Ms310, Husky 35, a 1979 Pioneer 1074, and cheap crapsman. I'm not worried about the crapsman or the MS310 (the latter I have parts laying around for) . are the 1074 and the 35 worth a crap if I get them running? I like using vintage stuff like that. Does the 1074 have pull for 51cc saw?
Im not an expert by any means at all but I like to tinker so hopefully you get these cleaned out and running to add to your arsenal.
The pioneer is running like a raped ape on the old fuel. It only took me a few pulls. The 310 had the ignition control lever disconnected and is now running fine. ( I don't know how to make it stop popping out) The 35 is leaking all over from the carb. I haven't begin to try yet on it. The crapsman fired but I'm not gonna try for awhile. None of them are gonna be stable saws. My main saws I use are my 311, 250, echo cs8000 and echo T335 . I have a cs4500 that i grub with because the oil tank is cracked. I have a 015L I cannot get to idle too
That is a nice score! Do you have a picture of what is wrong with the lever on the 310? I would not run any of them on the old gas. I always dump the gas on a saw no matter what condition it is in when I buy it.
I can get some this time tomorrow. I'm hitting the hay now as I work nights. I don't run them on old fuel either. I was just pulling to test compression and it spit so I pulled again and away she went. I rapped it a few times killed and dumped it.
