Honey hole is officially open. Beech, white oak, cherry, hard and soft maple. Stopped by yesterday and worked out our agreement. Will begin hauling tommorow or Monday.
I don't recall any cutting, just splitting from his last Jenga post...just from what I saw. Either way square/block wood is dang hard to pass up.
No cutting only splitting. I'm not splitting them till the spring though. I'm just getting them now and stacking them whole and top covering them till spring. I'm burned out from the log load and lean to.
I feel you. I haven't even nearly split as much as you have but its my first year doing this amount. So I pace myself here. You're doing fine anyways.
Just loading them and unloading them is gonna be a PITA. They are so heavy and I got about 200 waiting for me. Buddy told me I should have around 800 of them when he finishes up.
You'll be happy you went. Actually I wish I lived in the area to see it in person and help you out no doubt.
Not sure if Id say limited but nice to see the cuts on these blocks. No bark just a splitter job. Around here, a load of mill cut ends likely run 50-100 depending on what it is. Ive asked a few mill ads if they had scraps to give out but they were often selling as they'd keep wood to keep the cost down.
If I remember correctly, I believe he pays his buddy with cases of adult beverages? I'd gladly drive up there with a keg for the fella if I could come home with a truck and dump trailer full of those!
