Semi-truck spills 42,100 pounds of beer on Wolf Creek Pass I've been on that route many times and it is quite the drive! Glad there was no snow at the time this happened. Too bad for the beer.
wolf creek pass way up on the great divide . . . Truckin' on down the other side. seriously, I woulda been chittin bricks (ha, ha, "chitten" got auto corrected to "chitin" - umm, no, not what I meant)
Made me think of this. The ‘Banana Truck’ Crash: 50 Years Later SCRANTON -- It was a horrific wreck many people still remember, one that inspired a Harry Chapin song. On March 18, 1965 Gene Sesky of Scranton lost control of the truck he was driving, hauling 30,000 pounds of bananas, barreling down Moosic Street toward central Scranton, unable to stop. Family members said the clutch failed. "He chose not to jump out of that truck. And he was on the fuel tank of the truck with the door open, blowing the air horn, steering the truck with the other hand, yelling for people to get out of the way," said Gene's son, Gene Sesky.
Initially reading this I thought of one of those tanker trucks with beer. Then there would be a case of drunken road...
I'm sure there's some overlooked bottles and cans that are hiding, just waiting to be claimed and given a home...sounds like a call for a scrounger! Those pictures brought a tear to my eye...and not in a good way.
when i was a lot younger we had a beer lorry over turn on a round about, you should have seen all the people getting the beer bottles.buy the time night came they were all gone, very funny
"Got my CJ-5 in 4-wheel drive and smokie on my tail.." CW McCall was the man for that stuff! BTW, they're still in mourning down in Durango, so please, let's not pick the bones before the frothy, sudsy, refreshing cadaver is cold. Wait....
Yup, Ft. Lewis. I have very fond memories of the college scene there in the winter/ spring of '90. edit- might have been '89. It was a poor snow year at Squaw Valley, we went back-n-forth between Durango and Squaw all winter/spring.
'Sittin' out back of the jail" That one (along with Wolf Creek Pass) are on my MP3 player - Just a couple of the tunes I sing at the top of my lungs when I'm riding my bike (and other's wish I wouldn't attempt to sing )
I about chit because, in a massive coincidence, "Wolf Creek Pass" came up on the MP3 on my way in to work this morning. Had to stop for gas in the middle of the ditty, so restarted it from the beginning when I was back on the road. "One looked like a can full of worms, the other looked like malaria germs"
