Yesterday I was on a roll; Scrubbed Birdie's cage top to bottom and inside and out, scrubbed tub/surround, laundry and dump run.

Then it was outside to power wash the back porch and ramp. As wet as it has been, and being under the drip line to the roof and in shade most of the day, it was green from algae plus some black mold. After the power wash I doused it in a eucalyptus mixture to kill mold/algea, scrubbed it, then hosed it down for a rinse. Also power washed that side of the house so I can scrape and paint it later (maybe today?)

Then I stained the timbers to the new garden - I think it gives the garden more depth and definition. Since it had been a couple of years, and they had been beat by the mower and weed-wacker, I re-stained the timbers to existing gardens.

Then it was time to move the rest of the pea gravel from under the willow tree in preparation for the tree removal. I decided to put it under the stove pipes as this year the grass/weeds have really encroached on the sandy soil so could present a fire hazard. I weeded, raked it out then dug up the drip line to put timbers in for holding the weed barrier and rock. Then realized that of the 3 landscape timbers I had left, only two of them matched - but those two don't match the one along that front-to side garden (3rd picture just above) :headbang:. At least I didn't get them re-barred down before I realized it. Transferred the pea gravel (not enough left obviously) and decided to call it good for that project at this point.

Pea gravel that was used for the new garden and under the stove pipes was in that killed off area under the willow.

After cleaning up all the tools and spreading the tarp that the pea gravel was wrapped in (hoping for rain to clean it), I called it a day at 6:15. Shower, food, TV and reading made it a full day.

Been cleaning and long over due picking up and thinning stuff out. At times it seems I am making more of a mess than I am getting rid of. I only get about half done of what I set out to yet I am busy most all the time. Age has a way of doing that to me.

We bought a new washer yesterday Lowe's , the old one was starting to leak pretty good , I could have replaced the gaskets where it was leaking , after watching the vid on how to do it , basically taking it all apart I said NO . It gave us 15 yrs . time for a new one nothing fancy and the price was right .
