62ºF outside right now, might get to 65º today. 66ºF inside. Some nice ice cold breezes thru the open window last night. Closed all the windows that weren't closed when the cold one mentioned how cool it is. "Feels like the air conditioner is on, hon." Wondering if that is a subtle hint regarding the air conditioner being still in the basement. hmmm. It has been rather warm.
Yea from what I think of in Australia, I would say yall are drier than us. And would think hotter, as hard as that is to imagine!! You would not beleive all the millineals and imports we have to this state that complain about the heat!!
After seeing yalls June and July tells up there in the North, no wonder all our Northern imported residents complain about the heat and our summers. I guess I had no idea till I went up here a decade ago in May/June and felt the temps. I thought maybe it was just cool? I mean I know it's cooler there but guess I never realized how cold and I have never really watched national weather other than big stories. And I was born and raised here in SC. Grew up on the coast within 5 to 10 miles of the o ean and now live upstate. So our temp to me seems normal.
Normal average temp for here is more like 80ºF/85ºF. Last night and today are welcome respites. A little bit of cold isn't unusual though either. The same 95% humidity to spawn thunderstorms though. In fact I've got about 45 minutes to finish up in the greenhouse and garden or get wet.
Dennis, you must be sending all the crappy weather either to HD or me. It's still drizzling, and pretty humid. The gauge next to me says 73%. The weather stick is lookin' sickly too. I actually put my hoodie on both yesterday morning and this morning. Isn't middle of July supposed to be drier than this?
Presently 70 degrees and nice here Dave. Sitting here I had to go get a shirt to put on as I was getting cold and I don't want to shut the sliding glass door.
Yes, the key is the humidity or more important, the dewpoint. 80 can feel nice. 85 is pressing the issue though. 75 is much better!
I was in northern territory in June or July 20 years ago.. for Americans they usually have 2 seasons there hot and dry and hot and wet! normal attire shorts sandals and a silk sarang... a piece of cloth to keep sun off... well when I got to the hostel (cheap no amenity hotel) it was 68 degrees... these guys were freezing.. they bought every sweatshirt (jumper) and long pants I brought.. it was darn near 70 so I went swimming pool water was 77 they aussies were convinced I was that was coldest temperature on record...
Thanks, will do. I have one day to break in my new vasques! Last pair saw over 1500 miles. Bought them at farmway in Vt. Worth a trip if your ever nearby.

Just thought I'd pass this along. The temp reported by one party in the U.P. was 35. The low was forecasted for 41 nearby him but as we all know, some lower spots are always gifted with beating any predicted temps! Right Backwoods Savage ? Remember those days?
