Yes, it's finally happening! Should be all poured by mid next week..... I think I just aquired an entire 1830s stone barn foundation from over in the valley, I'll know for sure by lunchtime! That'll be for the walls and oven! I feel like a kid at Christmas waitin for Santa Claus!
Let me know if you need a hand getting it to your place would be glad to help you. And don't forget I have some fire clay and mortar left over from my wfo your welcome to it.
Nice stuff fishingpol. Do you guys have any pics of a wfo setup that can grill, roast and make pizza? I love pizza but I really want to cook other stuff over wood. Having trouble finding a good design.
Wood fired ovens can pretty much do all of this, in a different way. As far as grilling, in a cast pan. I am going to forge a trivet to raise my pans about 3" off the bricks and put coals under it. With an active fire, the flames can I pretty much broil the meat. Fajitas cook so well like this. Bread, rolls, muffins, can be baked as well as chicken, vegetables, casseroles, baked beans and so much more. If you search under "wood fired oven" in this section under my username, you'll see a lot of threads.
Back when you were a kid, who would have ever guessed some stones would bring on this level of excitement...can you imagine telling your 8 YO self that you are getting a pile o stones for Christmas?! "No thanks, I'll take the socks n underwear"
Come on Scotty Overkill I can't wait till you get that done! I am having a craving for homemade wood fired pizza!
