I think the further west the Paczki recipe travelled, some fixins fell off as it went.

Just got home from helping a buddy replace the starter in his truck in the parking lot at work. One of our process engineering guys took the lead on the swap, I drove the owner of the truck to Advance for the new starter and then to the beer store (that was the payment for the "mechanic's labour)...
At this point in the repair, I was the resident photographer (as usual... )

It looks like polish immigrants first came to the US to Texas, Chicago, and parts of Michigan.

I suppose it all has to do with family recipes.

I actually had a paczki in Poland, and it wasn't any match for a real donut.

I'll just stick to jelly (or other )filled donuts as I know I'll like them.:)

Well my batteries on the camera was dead...:headbang: not a full SD card as I originally thought...:emb:... So I've got two camera's set up and a trap set up... I have one weak spot in my chicken coop at the door, will have to work on that this weekend. However, I put a piece of panel against the door with a 8 ft piece of landscaping timber... Well the panel was removed and ended up on the otherside of the landscaping timber sometime between lastnight and today....... So I'm still not certain on what is going on.... Human or coon (only takein' 8 for a joy ride so far) is what I'm thinking... As the World Turns....

See, those are just too sweet. So are Dunks and most others. They have come to the point where all donuts, cookies, pies, muffins and even bread are mostly sugar and a flavoring agent. Not like the old days when you could actually taste the other ingredients. Sure, I don't mind some pure sugar now and again (my current fave is Starbursts), but when I'm getting things that aren't candy, I want taste.

Kind of like hot peppers - I like hot, but gotta have taste too. I'll take a milder, tasty pepper over a hot for the sake of bragging rights pepper any day.
