My wood shed is a 24'X32' pole barn. I have it divided up into a number of 8x8 sections. I also have 3 half sections for shoulder wood, so I am on the 3 year plan for that. I have 2 bins I made for kindling (2 year plan). Each of the other sections, and there are 5 of them, hold just over 2 cords each. I have at least 2-3 cords of split wood outside as well as some blocks waiting to be split. The center part of my pole barn is where I keep my tractor, trailer and splitter.
The picture that shows my wheelbarrow is the section that I was last using this past winter. After I use up my this years shoulder wood, I will go back to that place and start there this winter. I go in a clockwise direction when taking wood out. That makes it easy to remember which wood gets burned next. I only seperate my wood into shoulder wood and not shoulder wood.
That really is one sweet setup, and incredibly organized. I would love to have that much closed in area to stack. Nice lookin hoard, brother!
Nice set up. You can typically sort out the mega high btu stuff based on weight alone. If not, then the occasional shorts in winter house attire happens.
Actually, the pole barn was here when we first bought the place. It has been a work in progress to get to the point it is now.
Y'all have some funny looking horses in Wisconsin! All kidding aside, that is a wonderful sight to behold. Must feel great when the first child snap hits, going out there to load up knowing that no matter how cold the coming winter is, the hard work is ready to cash in and you are on easy street. Nice work!
