yup done that posted a pic of it.. for smaller logs easier to use poor man sawbucks. I don't have Quick attach or forks YET!
For me it should work out well for loading the logs onto a dray and then taking them off and stacking them when out to the staging area.
problem is my neighbors and friends are too good to me.... I know huge problem... I went to do it last year.. buddy stopped by 3/4 miles away... told him yup saved money.. going to order xxx... he came back in 30 minutes with 80 HP JD and did the jobs I had for it... so it fell from top of priority list again... I got blower whenever we get big snow over a foot I run blower and open him up.. it's almost a contest to see who can help other out more.... only problem is he is winning ... great neighbors problems
Backwoods Savage do you have a grab hook welded to the top center of your bucket? I tried zooming in on your pic and couldn't see a hook If you lift long log, position dray under end of log cut log onto dray, Pull forward centering over dray cut again Keep repeating until dray is full
Just picked up a couple of grab hooks yesterday so will get them on soon. I was debating about one in center but will try one on each end first and see how it goes. You are right with the loading of the dray so long as there is some maneuvering room.
be sure to put one in the center put em on the sides too but never use just one side hook you could easily tweak or bend one bucket arm your bucket will then not be level -- one side will be higher
Yup! One spring, we mistakenly set taps into a scotch pine, boiled down the resulting pitch, then lo and behold!!!
Got around this morning and hauled the logs from that pine to the back where I will use them to stack wood on. Still have some brush to pick up though. It's like a sauna out there yooperdave. How is that pronounced now? Seems I'm getting a few people who aren't sure how to say it. I tell them to go to the UP and they will learn it quick. lol We used to have a neighbor close to us but they have now both passed away and the house got torn down. The sauna still stands though!
