I can appreciate not "needing" to insulate but in the summer the insulation will help a ton keeping it cooler.

Thanks for sharing your build with us.

I understand...and will adjust as needed...we are in a somewhat weird situation because, while we are in GA, our land is about 1500' above sea level, and has not gotten has hot as I thought it might be so far. Conversely we should be colder in the winter, and might have to do something then. P.S...saw our first deer on the property the other day!

Enjoy the looks of the ceiling for now and like you said, address it if necessary.

Bet you can't wait until cold weather!

Can't wait..although with all the rain we haven't been all that hot yet, but the bugs are killing me. Ticks are unbelievable!

Read somewhere that ticks are going to be something fierce to deal with this summer and the spread of them is just starting.

We have been dealing with them for 6 weeks or so...wife had one on her yesterday, although we catch them before they attach..we check each other pretty well (which is kinda fun!).

I think the ticks have peaked here...at least for where I've been.

Got the sheathing up (for the most part) and will finish the small parts Tues. Next up...need to put up the front deck to be able to work on finishing the front sheathing as it is so far off the ground. Also saw my first deer on the land...crossed in front of me this morning about 50 yards away! DSCF1004 (3).JPG DSCF1003 (3).JPG DSCF1001 (4).JPG

Got the rest of the sheathing up (except top front, which will have some stationary window panes lengthwise near top to let in more light as it is north facing)...and put in the front deck. Six feet wide and full 32' length, and will be covered with the same tin roof. The house wrap is on, and next is doors and windows. Never built a house and am finding a million little details to work through! DSCF1001.JPG DSCF1003.JPG DSCF1005.JPG DSCF1007.JPG DSCF1008.JPG

Should help keep the roof cleared of snow.

Shoot that sucker! I hit one standing dead still in the road looking off into whatever. No time to stop, bam, down it went. Did some damage to my car. If you plan on having a garden they will eat just about anything.
