I had my 3 year supply CSS and my year 4 wood quietly waiting to be CSS this winter when space on the racks opened up. So I cleaned up the processing area a month or so ago and stood back to take in the glory of the stacks for the summer. :smoke:
Then It hit me! The shaky throttle finger:saw:, hands locked in a grip and arms swinging over my head up and down again uncontrollably :axe:, constant peering into the back of my truck in hopes to see a log or two.:stacke:eek:_O
FHC FEVER!!!! Enough is never enough! First it started with the ash I cut Memorial Day weekend couldn't stop there!:woodsign: Then I remembered there was a wagon load at my parents house I stashed there back in February :woodsign:, grabbed that.
Then last week my neighbor gave me a dry cut and split cord or so, still not enough:woodsign: . Today my Dad informed me there was a pile for the taking where they have been clearing lots across from his house IMG_1335.JPG so of course even though it was 81 with 98% humidity today I grabbed some IMG_1339.JPG Ash, elm, apple, black walnut
There's still another load to get, maybe tomorrow.
To wrap this up FHC fever is the best thing anyone could ever have and it's kept me happy and taught me lots of cool things through the great people we've got around here! Plus it's made keeping the house warm possible for a long time! One more pic for the night one sight everyone loves to see nothing but wood and saws in the rear view IMG_1338.JPG

It's pretty rainy this morning so we aren't doing much at the shop, but it means our tree guys are in doing saw maintenance so guess who is sniffing some two stroke this morning....:D

P.S. I'm in the 17 cord neighborhood now, seems funny since our worst winter we burned 3 1/2

Wonder who it is? One of my friends has a friend that lives up his way with a mill. My friend has a 42"x 14' black walnut he's going to mill for him:D soon

Way to go J. Dirt. Now I think you are officially ahead of me. Just struck me too. Perhaps I need to take a count to see what we have left.

I actually took a pad and paper out with my tape measure the other night haha:rofl:  I don't have things stacked in cord size stacks so I needed a different and more precise way to measure:D

I've been known to be lurking at dawn round my stacks with a tape measure and note pad! No shame in that! Ya gotta know how much you've got, or you'd always be wonderin'.
