"Brown Santa" That's what I said too...but the build has begun...been sneaking out to the garage to work on it...neglecting more important projects...got caught last night...wife says "what's that? when did you get it? how much was it?" then says "dinner will be ready in 30"...WOOHOO, I think I'm in the clear!!
Instructions! ! Haha yea right. I doubt there is any. Saws are pretty easy if you have taken one apart or have one to take aprt. I may be surprised and HL may include them??
HA! Ah...no. They have recently started labeling the bolts/screws though! (at least mine and a couple others kits too)
Oldman47 , I had an h1 myself. Though I preferred the 78 kz1000 I had much more. Yeah, they call these "parts kits" so it's not really a saw. Silly loopholes.
I have less than $250 I think in the ms650 I reassembled from a box of parts that was crushed. Came with a 25" wide nosed stihl bar and a chain with most of its life left.
Sweet! Been repairing my barn so I have a dry place to work (about a weeks work left on it), once that's done and I get the garden back in shape, I promised my wife a date and the kids a fishing and camping trip. Then I may be able to play with my new toys! Santa brings presents to good little boys and girls one day a year. The Brown Santa works 6 days a week!
To me that looks and runs like a 90cc saw!! It sounds like a ported saw...is that the jugovernment that MM designed? Dang guys yall make me want one. IF this was a few years ago and I had more disposable income I'd have a kit!!.. but why I have a real MS650!! I guess the same reason I bought the earthquakes. .cheap saw to play with.
The Maid might not know what to clean up or leave alone. Finished up my Stihl MS660 piston into a Poulan 505 today. Will test tomorrow.
Yes it is the Mastermind/ Cross cylinder. The only thing done to it is a base gasket delete. I know the muffler is probably holding it back a good bit. I can also play with the ignition timing. I think the carb is going to work fine. When I first started it, it was very rich, which I have the "ported" cylinder so that may have been some of it, but a slight turn on the H screw and it is not as rich. I thought it did not have the right throttle response in the video, which I never touched the L screw. Later this evening I started it up and it sounded great, maybe from things breaking in.
Naw...heat the cases/bearings with a hair dryer, crank in the mini fridge... (you only need ~150* temp differential...it'll slide right together...gotta be quick though)
