Actually the stuff is pretty dry so it shouldn't be bad. I have actually enjoyed the green smell outside as it has been dying. I was trying to figure out what flowers were blooming in the area until I figured out is was the willow.

I've done this before (loaded up the night before). I knew it was supposed to rain overnight so wanted the first load all set to go when the dump opens.

Work has been delayed as it is raining and should be at least drizzly the next several hours. Jon still plans on getting here this weekend, he just doesn't want wet grass or a wet saw. I'm totally onboard with that especially since the tangle of branches leaning on the pen will be tricky. One unbroken branch from the crabapple tree is holding things in place and a slip up could be potential for injury - and we certainly don't want that!

So the weather guessers were a bit off today. The tropical storm remnants ended up only being light, intermittent rain. I went up just after lunch and the area was all ready for cutting. All the ends were cut off and hauled or atacked off to the side. The wood was pretty light as that branch was starting to die off. It only took a few minutes to cut it all up, and bogieb loaded up her truck while I was cutting.

The lower section of the large limb had a decent carpenter ant nest in it, which would explain the weak point where it broke off.

We took two fence panels down and straightened the bent one back as best as we could. I reset two t-posts and got the panels back up.

I had a nice visit and chatted a while about pellet stoves, house weatherization and gardening. All in all a great trip up to NH for me to meet a great FHC member.

Not many pics as we worked right through.

I can't thank fishingpol enough. Really nice guy and he cut up everything real quick. Heck, I got the truck backed in to start loading and he already had 1 of the branches cut into section and was starting on the branches hung up in the fence.

The failure to get pictures is mine. Somehow I get wrapped up into getting stuff done and then think of pics later. Did get one of Jon straightening up the portion of the fence with the gate on it. It wasn't even damaged no matter what it looked like in the previous pictures. He jumped up and down on the other section to get it straightened up. It took both of us to straighten one of the fence poles I used to stabilize the fence, but it didn't take long.

after he left, I took three trips to the dump. The picture of the truck full of wood is before I added the large chunks shown on the ground. The other two trips were just limbs and the last pile that I had cleaned up last night. Total trips to the dump today = 6. Got my tax $$ worth today. :D

And here is the fence that the cats are wicked happy is back up! Looks dang near as good as new - just a couple of creases in the top and middle support tubing.

He pointed out where woodpeckers had drilled both small and large holes to get a meal of ants. It was really quite interesting and something I probably wouldn't have even noticed myself. Although, I did notice the ants boiling out when he kicked that section.

Finding how light that wood actually was, compared to other sections that have come down (much smaller, I definitely need to get that tree out of here this summer!

Although the radar showed me in green all morning, and at times in yellow, I got less than 1/8" (including from the night).

I truly appreciate each and every person who was willing to help even if they were too far away, could help in a couple of weeks, or came late to the conversation! This is the most awesome community!
