I think that could be a black walnut but looks a little strange for what we have here. It can look different in different areas.
That's what I was thinking too...we do have a ton of Black Walnut around here, and this tree is only about 6-8" in diameter
Well I guess ot only being 8"s it could be. For some reason my brain was making me think that was a 10-14" log.
Yeah, that crap is EVERYWHERE around here. I don't get it at all, but my wife is super allergic to it. Nasty stuff.
There more of us than one would think. I don't get it either and neither does my dad. I don't try to mess with it but I can walk through it in shorts or brush up to it and not get it. I am a forester and sometimes when I have gone to measure a tree I go to hug it and realize the vines on it are poison ivy and it was just brushing my face...glad I am not really allergic.
I heat you...not one to gloat, but I'm very happy that I can withstand incidental contact without suffering what the Mrs. endured this spring. She got it systemically, and it was fvcking miserable.
I said the same thing one day when I cut a 4" vine on a tree...got it a couple times since then too...twice in the middle of the winter from just handling firewood Don't temp it
Seems to work that way. Never bothered me then one day I was hanging a tree stand and got all over my arms. NOT FUN! Sent from my Z832 using Tapatalk
I almost used that term. But I don't really like it so instead of saying when I went to hug the tree, I said measure it. But we do say "hug that tree" sometimes when talking about measuring them. You have to go up to it and grab your tape around the back side. Big trees you have to throw your tape from one hand to the other and pull it around to measure it.
