Well slept in a bit, pancake breakfast, took a nice lil scoot with wifey and bud, mowed the lawn and weed wacked. Dogs got a bath and now son and family are here for enchilada diner. My little grandbuddy is a bit pizzy cause his teeth are coming in and he doesn't want to take a nap. He was fun for awhile though ! Hope everyone is enjoying their day.

With a little prodding from the old man, the boys provided lobsta's and clams. Add in an abundance of High Life, and it was a very good day.

So dark outside from thunderstorms pounding the area that the automatic lights just turned on. HUGE bolt of lightning just hit about 1000 ft behind the shack....YIKES!

    Heading your way Jay!

Came through here this afternoon before I got home from work and then again around 7. Dark skies, heavy rain, thunder/lightning but no real wind so really not that bad. Wind would have been brutal with everything else.

Friday we got a good downpour which raised the lake level up about a inch and another dumping on Sunday which sent it up another 1/2:yes:
Currently just a tad from the previous spring level before a nasty neighbor played with the beaver dam:hair: It should be his last time doing so:whistle: otherwise:heidi: from the other neighbors:smoke:

Got home Monday afternoon to find no power in my area and about 1/5 of the canopy off my willow tree had bounced off my roof. It took out a couploe of sections of the chain link fence too, so the cats are indoors only now - they are not happy. There are a couple of branches, but the biggest "branch" goes from the front of the house to past the gate (house is 24' wide and that is 20' of fencing). A lot of the canopy got walloped and is hanging off the tree. Guy working in the lot behind mine said he thought lightning hit it because he heard a big BOOM just before the branch fell. None of the local tree services are answering my voicemails and I still have to find someone who deals with standing seam roofs to look at that (the guy who put it up is no longer in business).

See that big-azz trunk in the middle background? That is the willow trunk and these branches came off a spot that is 15-20' above the portion in the picture.

The good news? I was wanting to trim those bent branches off the crabapple because they were almost to the roof anyway

Wow, what a mess that made for you. I hope you have some insurance to help deal with that tree removal. I can't stand having trees so close they can hit my roof etc. Willows are notorious for breaking in any stressful situation. Plus they are too messy. Take it easy with your clean up.

Insurance doesn't pay for tree removal, only the damage that's done when parts fall off it.
