Have to keep all of the parts labeled or I'll get lost putting it back together. DSCN5130.JPG

Getting there. Carb kit in. Waiting for p/c, handle and AV parts plus smalls. Custom labels made. It will be a 72AVP (72cc antivibe ported). Plastic covers sanded with 150 grit. They will be dyed black before painting just in case the paint chips- you know it will... I will continue once I start painting and tearing more stuff apart.

Are you doing the grinding on the jug?

I had a Super turned Mag, definitely a grunty saw.

I have the carbide burs ready to go. I did some on my Poulan 3300 that turned out decent so might as well jump in with both feet. Once I get the p/c in and mounted to check the squish I will make a plan. I do not have a mill so hoping with a gasket delete it will will be close to 20. If it's much more I will try figure something out old school. After that I'll get the timing #'s and most likely send out a post to see where I should go. There are 6 threads on another forum that go into porting quite extensively - Exhaust port, intake port, transfers, compression, ignition timing, and exhaust in that order. I have all of them bookmarked for reference and will restudy them as I go. At least that's the plan. Plus, the aftermarket p/c's are cheap enough that it takes some of the fear out of messing up. Well see what happens. My goal is to be at right around $300-325 for the entire build which includes the saw, parts, paint drum conversion, bar and square chain. If all goes right I might be a bit under.

I would like to have it done by the end of summer. Super busy for the next couple weeks so will do a little here and there. Ir probable will not be close to the other builds that were at the GTG but should run better than stock.

I am interested in seeing what it looks like with the colors you picked out. Good for you porting your own saw. You do not have to go crazy, after all we are not building race saws just good cutting
    working saws.

I must say you seem very neat and organized with your set up to keep parts in safe a place during the build! Unlike some other people that I know I am not naming names, but I will including myself! :rofl: :doh:

Covers with 2 coats of primer inside and out.

2 coats of paint inside and out. It's a weird combination of color but think it will look nice all installed. Sorry had to do the pic inside - ran out of light. They will sit for a few days before they get cleared. I had trouble figuring out colors for the tags so went with something kinda in between the gray and teal. Will punch holes in the tags so the fit over the rivets.

There's no play in the main bearings and plenty of carbon on the piston so pretty sure it was getting enough oil for lubrication so not splitting the case. The seals will be in the kit so might as well do them when get rest of it apart for paint.

Had an old 16" Total Tsumura bar sitting around. The oil holes match right up so decided to strip and clean it up. 10mm slot so guessing an 024 Jonsered mount. After a bit of widening and making sure the adjuster fits it should be a nice addition to the build. DSCN5195.JPG
