hej hej all, Got this new load today that has been laying next to the road for about 4 months. It is not rotten but there is a lot of sand and dirt on the trees. If i go cut it will it destroy my chain? Have a nice day all!
It won't destroy it. However it may dull the chain a little faster than usual. Might have to sharpen an extra time or 2 if its really got dirt packed into the bark
G'day Duvekot. I would not worry to much, that wood does not look to dirty to me. As TurboDiesel said you will only dull your chain a little quicker than normal. I recently cut up a River red gum that had fallen over in a billabong, it was covered in sand and dried mud. It was hard on my chain but I sharpened it up within a few minutes with a file and all was good again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Quick tutorial on Australian for those of us in the States...listen to "Waltzing Matilda" by Slim Dusty- lots of Google-able terms in it. Great song, and after I translated the terms I didn't know, I like it even more!
A little less angle on the tooth and it will dull a bit slower, like 25° or use the window on the left as opposed the the one on the left as a guide and you will be fine
Hej hej all, I think i got a pretty good stash today, it is gonna take some time to proces it all. And the good news is there is lots more i can get for free! Well night night all its a shower, a beer and bed time for me..... Have a nice day all.
