    I do have a big ash,:eek: no;) some big ash :woodsign::smoke:
    But when I need serious heat, I pack the stove up tight with average Oak and Hickory and get some great burn times:campfire:

    Wow I had no clue to figure that out. And thought that by the time it would have been loaded the fire would have been catching but this is the raking the coals to the back sorta thing??

    I was curious to how these were loaded Tom, the insert made me think that you either top loaded like a Vermont castings or had a side loader like Backwoods Savage and the rest of those Fireview lovin' folk! Im hoping to run into Dennis here in the pictures. Not sure if this is his thing...

    Most people Rake The Coals to the front.
    Depending on how much coals you have in there, but you got to hurry up reloading with good dry wood cuz it will start on fire before you get done.
    That's why you wear welding gloves or something similar, coals will burn you to

    NOW I place your YouTube videos! I was watching secondary burns last night and loved every minute of it. You turned off the lights, like rolling thundercloud fire in there. To someone who hasn't seen secondaries burn in a stove, Im liable to start a thread on just that.

    Sorry folks if my posts are annoying just about everyone in a topic thread but someone opened a barrel of worms here and you can blame me for my serious drool problem to which seeing you load your pigs to the gullet. This is absolutely a SIN!!... Salivation Induction Nonsense!!! Love everyone's pictures. An entirely new Outlet. Thank you HDRock and Thor for some of this deliciousness. And you'll be seeing me post what seems like tomorrow if Fall starts cold!

    I bought a couple pairs at Harbor Freight they are a bit thin for the bbq, found that I can't hold onto a cast iron griddle but loading wood should suffice.

    Will take a look, I just feel a cotton liner in there so no insulated liner. Saw some nice welding gloves with the padded palms for the cue but we'll see if I wanna dole out the cheddar. Would like to keep my fingers intact, I do use them for splitting!

    It's a front loader, like all inserts. It just has a bow front, instead of a flat front.

    The grey ones. they work fine for the wood and small metal! I just couldnt hold this freaking hot azz griddle with gloves and potholders damm cumbersome
