    Went away for our wedding anniversary without the dogs and lil one on Saturday (first time since, um, 2004ish? though I guess that would mean different dogs and no lil one, but anyway). Damm dogs broke out the fence Sunday morning during 6 am potty outside (they are indoor couch potatos, you know) and ran away on the babysitter :headbang: . When we got home on Sunday I started looking in the old Blazer, sound of engine is distinct and they both know it, by 2 I was visiting campers a mile or so down the lake- 3 trailers had not seen them but instead a med sized black dog across the bay jumping in and out of cars there, YEP, had to be Blackie, that his M.O. I was leaving to go and another camper trailer opened the door and there stood Blackie in the doorway. :jaw: That camper guy made a comment that "possession is 90% of the law" Got him and looked for 2 more hours for Blondie with no luck,.

    WWW took the quad out about then and spotted her with binocs at a lake a couple miles east of us in the direction that a neighbor said they might have seen her at 10 am. "Antelope, bush, antelope, rock, antelope, ELSIE (Blondie)!!! He drove towards her and just like when she was lost in Jan 2014 with the snow drift education out here, when she was afraid of all the good samaritans that tried to catch her, she was all terrified again. WWW followed her (we now have 4 flat tires on the ATV from cactus because too risky to waste time to go back to atv trails ) but it was worth it!!!!!!!!! She ran into the lake in scared mode and tried to swim away, breakers to strong in the wind and she came back- at the shore she realized it was WWW and pretty much collapsed in relief. Thank God they returned home safe. Ya, both soaked and she got her first quad ride ever in his lap (70lbs). Neither of them can get up today from laying and both stiff as can be. Serves them right! OK, I gave both of them pain reliever this afternoon............ Shame on them for leaving, shame on Blackie for ditching Elsie. But. After thinking about it, they have never been alone without one of us at night (2006 and 2008 birth dates).

    Moral of the story is "you can't leave the spoiled ones with sitter" they don't like it....Glad they are home safe and sound....:thumbs:

    Update: Sandy had 4 tumors taken out this monin (found 2 more small ones). She's awake, wagging her tail and gittin hugs from the vet. We go get her in a few hours. I think the vet wants to keep her... ;)
