    I've never used it, but I can't see how this won't be a big ice dam at certain weather conditions. It's a huge gutter basically.:eek:

    Yeah, that aspect is going to take some research. May have to get creative for it to function. Luckily, about the last part of the deck so it'll get figured out.

    I have seen some guy's screw roof metal (pole barn type) to pitched "sleepers" under a deck before. That stuff is pretty stout and might at least support the inevitable ice. You can at least screw the heck out of it for strength.:headbang:

    under my 2nd tier deck I put skyights upside down to keep it dry.. 1.5 inches of pitch over 12 feet bbs brand plastic roofing best grade.. out some strapping every 4 feet lasted 10 years still works.. 20150711_141748.jpg

    Yup, something like that is what I'm after. I'll be using flat sheet though, 14g. Corten. Figured if it did dam up and cause a problem, I could hit it with oxy/acet. and it won't be any worse for wear.
