    Same here. We both love air shows but the ones around here have fizzled and been majorly clipped since the bases have closed and gone private. Hanscom, Pease and now Brunswick either have no air shows or the ones they have are privately run, cost $$$ and the performers/static displays are tied to either the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels with not much else for military. When these locations were active bases, the flying started at 9am and went non stop until 4:30 with a great mix of military and private all for free or maybe 10 bucks for the reserved areas.

    We passed on Brunswick 2 years ago and so far it looks like we might pass again this year. Too far a drive for a few hours of flying and admission is 30.00 for gen admin and 45.00 for reserved seating. The lineup will need to be beefed up for us to go this year. Pease is local enough that we would go, but Brunswick is 2.5 hour drive

    Rock walls can be a real pain.
    They look nice until ya have to get down on your hands and knees and clean out the weeds by hand.

    I like gentle transitions down banks that I can mow with the 3 point behind the tractor

    Looks good with the tank gone and all spiffed up. :yes:

    Beautiful day here. Long overdue. Got some transplanting done. My son got the pool up and open. Grandson had a B day party yesterday. Water was 70F Kids loved it.
    Going to a graduation. Grandson from HS. That's four down and four more to go, but it will be several years before the next batch.
    Then off to a evening wake for my friend who passed last week. Hope you all are having a good weekend.

    Was going to go play out in the dirt this morning but decided to whip out the remaining floor work in the basement instead. Glad I did as it took forever! I had to cut and lay the air gap system as well as two pieces of plywood;
    • The first one was easy as it just filled in the slightly less than 4'W x 74"L section in the work shop. But before I laid the air gap system, I had to finish the sheetrock on that wall - well the lower portion anyway (I had a piece left that was just big enough - the top portion can wait).
    • The second was very intricate as it went around the water heater on 3 sides (other side covered by another piece already) with a 22" "path" between the boiler and water heater, then widened back out to fill between the gun safe and the chimney. This is the one that took me 2.5 hours to accomplish - with lots of cussing, measuring and re-measuring since I only had the one piece of plywood. Naturally the aair gap system went super smooth in that area since I had plenty of extra if needed
    Then I cut and laid the 8 x 12' piece of linoleum that I found at HD for $40. It may not match the rest of the basement but for cheap money - I don't care. Figure the Durarock that I have laid in front of the stove doesn't look out of place either as it would if I matched the Travertine linoleum that is laid in front of the garage door. The last thing to do was clean everything up, move most of the stuff back into the safe / pellet room, and lay down the pallets in readiness for pellet moving - but that ain't happening in this heat!

    You can just see the edge of the durarock at the bottom of the picture.

    The dermatologist wanted me to shave it all off for one of my skin treatments. I did the goatee as a compromise. I would like to grow the beard back. Just need to keep the skin lesions from coming back.
