I wouldn't say I hoard tools, but if I can fix something myself, and the tool cost is $40, and it would cost me $50 to have someone fix it, I'll get the tool and do it myself, then hope I need the tool again. I ended up with all sorts of tools after rebuilding a few engines over the years.

Certain things I've learned are cheaper for me in the long run to pay to have done. Case in point, any ball joint replacement that involves press fit ball joints. It costs me more in band aids and beer than it costs to pay someone who has the right ball joint press and knows what they are doing.

I inherited a bunch when dad died, plus all that I already had. We were on vacation a couple of years ago when I blew out a brake line, so now I own THREE flaring tool sets.

I bought a s-load of woodworking tools over the past 3 months. Got a pretty good wood shop going now.

I'm not sure how I lived without a good table saw and impact driver. They are my favorite tools.

I've got a few tools and boxes. Been working a lot in the basement, so the wife bought me a box for down there. $79 delivered and it cam with a tool kit.

Here is the garage.. There is a box just to the right of the compressor, then one on both benches to the left and right of compressor.

And here is the small box the wife bought me... I love it. For less than. $80!

I have a bunch too. It is a sickness. There is no way to cure it, but if you buy more tools, it will help you feel better for a little while.

I'd spend $80 on that box. Good find.

I gutted and remodeled two houses so yeah I collected a HUGE amount of power tools and hand tools. Then add to the fact that I performed and still do HVAC Service and installations you can't even imagine the money in tools I have sitting around. A lot of the high dollar stuff is very specialized HVAC tools and they are quite pricey

Not exactly a tool hoarder, but I have a couple.:)
I still have a set of box wrenches from probably the mid-70's that got some use, and that now sit unused most of the time.
    I need a toolbox.
I've got tools in 2 3 different sheds, the shop, the house, and a couple of torque wrenches in the Jeep.
I really need to get organized.
By the time I make it out to one of the sheds for a tool, I've forgotten what the tool was and why I'm out there....until I'm almost back to the house.
I like the ratcheting box wrenches. I have one....somewhere.

 :rofl: :rofl: … So true. I was just thinking this morning that I ought to, finally, get a decent tool box with wrenches, etc. that I'll actually need and use. I have quite a few old worn out (cheap) wrench sets, with many missing (how does that happen)… and because of this awesome "system" I have for storing tools, also known as chaos, I spend twice as long looking for what I need as the job itself. Then, because it took me so long to get started, I'll be dammed if I'll spend another second putting the tools away when I'm done. Couldn't remember where to put em anyway. Don't look so smart when I read it ovah…

I bought a nice set of tools from Sears, craftsman brand. It came in a set with drawers. That was the last time I had to buy those tools. I keep them in there and have managed for the first time to hold on to a whole set. I have used them over and over. Very nice to have them when you need them.

Dex, you need some seating in there. Those adjustable stools are just the ticket. I also keep a rocker handy. Nice place to sit and consider the next move.

I think it was Amazon. Maybe eBay? But it was $79 with Free shipping. The tool kit is worth almost $79. The box isn't super deep, but for $79, I ain't gonna complain.

I will ask her tonight. I even got to choose my color :)

Found one for $70 :) The same box is as high as $189 and as low as $70. That was only taking 2 minutes to search..

It says $35 shipping. But the wife has "Super Savers Shipping" and it was free. Even at $100, it's still a good buy. If you buy often from Amazon, it should be free as well.
