That's what they make those prepper water tight barrels for ;-) This is where do you really trust that every gun you have bight since the Brady bills inception, 100% background check policy, do you really beleive that they destroy the records daily so they don't know that you purchased a gun? This is why I know guys that buy 2 guns every time they buy one at a delaer. They do one background check you can buy multiple guns (2 per day) So one for them and one to turn in if they come for it and know they have that gun. But the thing here is that the dealer is responsible for keeping their own gun sales records. They are required to keep them. So the paper trail exists feds just don't have them. But what happens when a gun dealer goes out of business? They turn the records over to the B ATF. So what's stopping one small law rewrite from making them all turn those documents in????? Ever thought of that. I know some dealers would never turn them in some may even risk jail and destroy them but they will get most I am sure!! I have never truly beleived that there was "no" record of sales or guns. Sure it gets hard once we private sell them. But when a crime is committed how do they always track that gun down to who bought it???? They go to the gun maker who keeps the record of who they sold it to, the dealer as part of the law. Then they go to that gun shop or warehouse and follow the paper trail till a private individual. Who may either be their criminal or that guy innocently sold it to another person who is criminal or again just another set of hands before a criminal got it. Just something for everyone tho think about.
I consider procurement and usage of firearms as a birthright. We may look a bit foolish in the media from time to time, but here, a Citizen's protected right to own and bear is one of the true gifts from those short men wearing funny whiggs many years ago. They recognized that firearms allowed them to throw off a government that was taking advantage of them. They were sure to protect future Citizens from the very government they were creating by ensuring they had a means to do the same if needed. The right to bear and keep is not Granted, but rather protected by our 2nd Amendment to The Bill of Rights. Yep, number 2 priority only proceeded by the right to voice your displeasure with government and freedom to worship as you please. It was profoundly important to them, as it is to me. Will outlawing guns curb our violence problem here...doubtful. you could take 100 million firearms out of the hands of good people, only to be left with 200,000,000 more found typically in criminal hands. Dissarmament here in the States would only punish those who abide the law. Gun violence may go down a bit, but crime rates would likely increase exponentially. We live by the creed of "An armed society is a polite society." I am sorry that your countrymen chose to disarm themselves. Firearms are not just for protection. I enjoy mine as often as possible.
we dont have the right to bear arms.its a privilage for us to have them.you wont belive our gun laws, its to much to right down. i will be on here for months, righting it all out,
Thank you for your contribution. Many here, even those that own guns do not realize how lucky we are here. They don't understand the effort, time and money involved in other countries just to own a firearm, let alone the restrictions. And that's places where your still able!! Some major countries have very restrictive laws governing firearms...Canada, Austrailia, England (most of europe!!)
its the eu,that makes it hard for us they are the ones that make the laws up, the quicker we get out the better.
I am very thankful for the protections afforded me by those who have come before me. I don't take them for granted and will fight any way I can to retain them.
Up until a few years ago, there was no paperwork required for private sales in my home state. So unfortunately, there's no documentation for all the guns I sold.
I believe they know who owns what based off of every ffl transaction. The law is to dump the records after x (2 years?)amount of time. But once it's digitalized...... But it has been shown the government is indeed not only lying but breaking the law themselves. Gun Owners' Personal Information Is Being Illegally Collected and Stored by the ATF Dealers get raided and spontaneously audited all the time for records.... I go to Vermont as often as I can for face to face transactions. Curios and "relics" also don't have serials.... The bigger picture here is to think about how the nation is so divided with socialists50/50. And how socialist the country already is.
Some weapons that qualify for C&R have serials but just not required to be recorded anywhere but your logbook if you have the CR license.
Free State, same as here! Ohio is very gun-friendly and becoming moreso. I wonder why we don't have the violence like IL does?
Ohio has better gun laws in some ways than Texas now that the 30+ Rd mag, day care and school zone laws have been changed. For the longest time you couldn't print down there. They have more restrictive laws on carrying in places that serve alcohol. Since I don't drink (except for an occasional Bailey's on a flight), this isn't an issue for me. But in Ohio, we don't have to worry about it at all now. I'd like to see our self defense and right to protect property extended to Texas's standard though.
I would rethink your strategy of buying 2 guns a day. My local dealer/gun shop, tells me that he is required by the Fed ATF to file a report to them for every purchase of more than one gun per day to a single person. Single gun purchase records are just kept in his shop files. This holds true for handguns and long guns. For concealed permit holders no background check is required fo purchase, but if 2 guns are bought the same day, he must report to feds.
I love mine too. Great pocket carry gun and you can shoot the whole gammet of .32 cal through it. Tame able recoil in such a snubbie even with full house loads.
He had been waiting for years for it. He even was sending Rugar emails asking them to make the LCR in .327fed. My mom will shoot it with .32 in it for light recoil. And since he reloads he can load even lighter than the factory options as well.
