Saw caught me right above the knee cap today while working on my load. I was rolling a round out of the way with my foot and the saw was pointed downward slightly and it caught me. Thank god the chain was almost stopped. Still made a nasty gash. Probaly could get a few stitches. Cleaned her out with peroxide real good and butterfly band aided her up. Carelessness on my part. Lesson learned. First incident I ever had with a saw. Hopefully my last. Going to get some chaps this weekend.
I always use super glue if it is something that butterfly stitches could handle. That's all they use in the Dr office. It's just controlled and called derma bond. I am not a Dr and this is only my opinion. Sorry. Had to disclaimer that just to be safe lol. 30 magazine clip on my ghost gun
Oh and glad you are safe bud. With power equipment if you are texting about it you know it could have been worse. Stay safe out there guys. Hobby or work. This stuff can jump up and bite really quick. 30 magazine clip on my ghost gun
I'm glad you didn't saw your leg off or anything Seriously now, I'm glad it wasn't worse and you will be okay. I won't lecture you, you know what you did wrong, but it can happen so fast
Two members in one day!? What's going on 'round heah?! Not sure chaps would have helped TurboDiesel much though... Good thing it didn't get ya a lil higher...we might have had to start callin ya Beechnutless! Heal well!
I'm so glad you are ok! No more saw until you get the chaps! What happened to TurboDiesel? I hope you are ok!
Oops, guess that wasn't posted in the general forum Saw jumped backwards and the handle gave 'im a crack on the shin...left a nice lump.
Guess I should let him speak for himself, but I think he's fine...just got a real sore lump on the fore-shin. Yup, he and Mrs. TD both good peeps!
I hate wearing chaps, especially if it's hot out. Sometimes I don't wear them but it's definitely a gamble. Hope you're on the mend BeechNut.
Thanks for sharing your mishap BeechNut Its good that members share these kinds of stories with the group so we can all learn from them. Ive worn chaps for about 5 years now every time I cut. It also helps for pushing through heavy brush. Glad you're ok!
Whoa. Bet you won't make that move again. Glad that was not worse as it could have been total disaster. KEEP THE FEET AND LEGS OUT OF THE WAY!
I'm glad you're okay. I bought chaps last year and admittedly only wear them about half the time. Every time I don't wear them, I think to myself "I should be wearing my chaps" but its so hard getting use to putting them on. Hearing about other's misfortune on here makes me want to change my safety habits.
I'm good, Jack. The log rolled and pinched the saw and it shot back, not up. Tip of the rear handle poked me. Less swollen and hard, but a little more purple today.
Glad everyone's ok, for the most part BeechNut and TurboDiesel ! That above the knee spot seems to be the place of a lot of hits! My brother got himself there stumping two years ago, 18 stitches and my moms cousin about a months ago, hit bone required surgery, guess it worked out ok but.... As for TurboDiesel hittin that spot on the shin bone makes you want to puke!
