Ah yes, the flats, which seem to happen much more on the rear than on the front.

I can well imagine you were treated well at Walts. Yes, they are a first class couple!

I'm betting you did not beat him out of bed this morning... Walt is a very early riser.

It's 2:12pm and we are taking a break just before Akron, Ohio. Time to pause and remember the generations that have gone before me.

Those who built the railroads that are now our bicycle highway. Those who, during the War to End All Wars, grew the food on the farms through which we pass, shipped on those rails to feed our troops fighting in Europe to keep the world free.

Those who worked in the now empty factories along our route who built the guns, tanks and planes used to keep our world free in the war that followed.

The canal builders and users the were the driving force of expantion in this part of the country.

And those brave souls who ventured this far west to clear land and find a better way of life.

So many memories, so much history, so many ghosts of bygone times. It's been a epic journey so far.

Hey, we're in Kent, OH headed for Ashtabula, Ohio. Camping looks almost non existent between here and there. Any of you woodenheads near the Greenway may have room for a tent in your back yard or wood storage area for the night in case we don't make the 70+- miles to Ashtabula?
