Just got home and opened the door and started to call him and realized he will never meet me at the door again. That was tough.

    Sorry.

It's always taxing to see a post like this. Hard to find the words that we think may help you feel better.

You are not alone as (I bet) everyone on here has gone through this a number of times themselves. Always tough and we just keep repeating the cycle.

Raising the pup form 4 days old was something in itself. If you ever get ready to tell the story of why and how, I for one would be glad to listen to it.

You lose a friend you lose your soul but its never truly gone. Just in a better place. I lost my pug last month... that hurt too. Now you can work on the memory. What lived can live on. Good Luck Redneck

His mother was carrying him in her mouth when she ran out into traffic. The car ahead of me hit her and kept going. I stopped and called the police but there was nothing they could do for her she was gone before they got there. I looked all around the area for the owners but nobody knew where they belonged i spent most of the afternoon looking for there owners then finally looked for more puppies. I did not find anymore and the police said I could keep the puppy if i wanted him. If i didn't they would have taken him to a shelter. I took him home and every hour to a hour and a half my kids and i fed him with an eye dropper at first and then used a baby bottle for a month or so and at about five and a half weeks later he was eating softned puppy chow. He was my wood hoording buddy he was always outside with me when i css. I know this is sacreligous but right now i dont even want to process the wood i have at my sons. And we still have about 28 cords to move to my house and to my sil house. I just don't feel like doing it.

    Randy,

I thought about our talk at Dennis ' place. It's never easy to lose a best friend. He had an extremely long and great life with your family. Once you are ready, a new dog will walk into your life unexpectedly....just like Brutus did. Embrace it, and give another dog a chance at that same great life.

    Take it easy bud.
