How often do you?

I have stacks that are hard to miss in my yard so I admire them almost every time Im outside. I like to hear them crackle and pop in the heat on a summers day. I like to resplit a piece here and there when its warm enough and stick my moisture meter in it. Even without knowing it I have my stacks in pictures of the bbq, the garden, the kids, the dog etc etc. I love my wood

 

Haha you better be careful there bud, wood may just become your darling. How much is the most you have split and stacked on your property?

 

I'd have to say that the most I've split and stacked on my property (and I know you didn't ask me....) is every single piece!

 

First thing in the morning with a hot cup of joe before work

Yep, every day, multiple times per day - it probably means I have a major problem, but I love walking my stacks, sitting next to them and looking them over, taking out pieces to see how different species are drying and how the different years of stacks are drying, etc., etc. - yep, we are a strange bunch! Cheers!

 

Normally thats what I hear from someone on the outside of this group looking in. Glad Im not the only one.

Of course! I talk to the two things I fondle - my wife and my wood. Ouch....that doesn't sound too good! Cheers!

Yeah, but I've only just recently achieved those 9 cords. Most people I hang with, aren't wood burners and haven't seen that amount of stacked before.

As with most things in life, it's all relative.

Exactly, I have right around the same amount now, and it doesn't seem that impressive of a stack to me. But then, that's after seeing some of the other.lunatics stacks on here!

 

Sometimes in the evening I'll stumble around them with a beer in hand too

 

I stopped checking the stacks a few years back, we're so sick of wood that we decided this coming heating season we would burn oil.
