All. Long time away since I have not had a stove since march 2016 installed. Moved my stove from my office that I sold then, and it's in storage.

Long story short, my stove may have suffered some cosmetic damage to the enamel finish that won't be easy to fix without removing the finish and repainting (expensive for a 10 year old stove). So, I may look to a new stove for an install in my house with my current Heritage discussed above being installed in a new garage I will build
    before winter.

I want a 3 cubic foot stove that uses a cat and can be dialed down for a smoke free slow burn like a blaze king. Not a fan of the looks of the blaze king brand and wife likes the look of hearthstone style stoves and not the ideal steel so much. I guess I'm asking for some thoughts. If i could choke back for a lean burn, that would be great to return home to coals. My heritage is a beautiful stove, but the firebox is too small and you can't get more than a 6-7 hour fire with any coal bed left.

The only thing is. That stove weighs as much as a tank. I wonder how easy it would be to get up the 5 front stairs to my house

I haven't been on this forum that long but talking about a woodstove that is that big yet light is like asking for a stove to be made out of carbon fiber and titanium. We're talking stripped down it seems.
My 1.9 cubic foot stove weighs 210 and that's just without the bricks. Add another 60.

I like the ideal steel, and it's a good value with performance factored in. Just need to convince the wifey. I like how customizable it is with colors and interchangeable decorative laser cut pieces

I think it would be cool to pick out multiple decorative designs. Like the downhill skiing, cabin, and don't tread on me designs

you can... side panels. . metal cut outs are cheap enough.. tops are a simple screw or center just comes off.. And Brian got a completely separate door for 250... that's what wife wants a dark red door and pine tree painted for Christmas theme... ah ok

I do think that stove is about the greatest technology going. Not as beautiful but you can't have everything at this lower price compared to a progress in the 3k range

As long as it's a stove brite color I don't think they charge any extra.

We do have a member fire_man here although he does not spend a lot of time on here as of late but you could contact him. If I remember correctly he put one in the second level of his home! I believe another fellow who used to live close to him did the same and he loved it. My mind may have mixed up the two guys but I don't think so. I can tell you that fire_man loves that Progress.

If he does not come onto the forum to answer this, if you would like I can contact him for you.

Thanks. I think Brian's white color is really nice looking and dresses up the steel box. How much stone is in this thing? 600 pounds is not messing around

For the record, the last year not burning was odd. You get used to it but I always liked my daily stove ritual

depends if you get soapstone liner, which I would recommend, that alone is 100 plus pounds, 2 side panels are roughly 35.. stove disassembles real eas.y

Yeah. Falling for this stove pretty hard. Like the 3 cubic feet mostly and the
    Clean slow burn.
