Thanks Yoops!!, here's a giggle for you, I have zero water here, been dipping out of the aquarium   to prime it. I think the pressure gauge is broke, water does not spray out-and needle used to bounce around a bit, now just stationary.

Yes, when my bones are ready to climb in and out of the underground cement bunker again, I am going to try a few more times, every time we did you could hear it trying better, but turned it off so it didnt get too hot and melt more parts.

Worse case scenario, go down to the waterfront and dip a few gallons. This would satisfy the water need for priming and also would be able to "flush" the toilet by dumping a couple gallons right into the bowl when it needs it.

I think the sound you are hearing is the pump begining to move water but loses the prime again.

I also have a jet pump at the cottage that will lose it's prime occasionally. It has run steady for more than a couple hours without damage. Yes, plastic impeller also and a motor that is too hot to leave your hand on it.

    maybe your impeller is ok.

Crawling into the bunker isn't a fun time. Be sure you are safe and don't fall!

So it goes from zero to 40 PSI without any water flow? Something sounds off here...
Any pump will prime much easier if the discharge side has no backpressure...in other words it is allowed to free flow. If it is possible (without too much trouble) to disconnect the pump from the house line, prime the pump, then reconnect it, you may have more luck...might get a bath though...oh well, it is Friday night after all  ;)

    :handshake:

 :headbang: Yep, going to be a very long day for poor WWW. I do not have a valve there, hose w metal hose rings... I did however open up the fixtures in both bathrooms and the kitchen faucet. He found another in Colorado thank goodness because this one will not take a prime, glad for running water and drinking water (filter on sink) again but :makeitrain"

nope, never even goes down, or up now, its pinned on 40 lbs whether its running or turned off, the needle used to bounce bit while running, now, nothing.

:hair::hair::hair:new pump installed and not working! Literally minutes from getting a needed shower:hair::hair::hair:

WWW built funny skinny lumber ladder for me to go down to find outlet to see if its clogged (cistern has small opening, he does not fit, nor do ladders/step ladders), I messed around down there inside it for way too long and never found the outlet:headbang:

Well. wildwest , you and I are in the same camp. No water.

My new breaker isn't tripped, and the well pump won't turn on. I'm hoping mine is simply a new pressure switch. $23 at home Depot. I'll try tomorrow. Tonight, it's no agua. We've got a few gallons for drinking, so we'll be fine.

Whats up with all this water related issues??? Well Hope you wildwest & Horkn get your water issues figured out.... Mines more minor, but still a pain... My refrigerator stopped pumping water through the water side, ice cubes seem to work. Now to start tearing into it. I heard a pop sound then it stopped... worse case scenario I'll be bringing in my Beer Fridge in the house to replace it....

I need to get out in the garden before it gets hot. Coffee needs to soak in first.
