Yup - I have my 9 cords of wood. I'll be covering the stacks later this fall. There's a few low spots on the stacks. Those will be dealt with with some CL wood that's onsite, that I have yet to CSS
A few more.... One of the ga-zillion gypsy moth caterpillars in the pic above, above the date that the wood was stacked.

I see two of the ga-zillion gypsy moth caterpillars. There's one to the left folded in half which, with a little luck, is an indication that it died of the bacterial wilt disease that can infect large populations. The wilt disease is supposedly more prevalent in wet conditions. Congrats on getting to 3 years ahead. Don't stop !! Make room for more.

Great job MikeInMa If you have wood in your stacks that takes 3 years to season, do you have plenty of quicker seasoning stock stacked?
Thanks for all the comments! It was a lot of work including reorganizing my various racks. I have only 3/4 acre, so rack area is limited. They are located in an area that does get alot of shade, but it's a high canopy. Gypsy moth caterpillars - bad. Bacterial wilt - good! I have seasoned wood for 2017/2018 heating season. Some of it can be seen in the pictures. It's the wood that's covered. With an amount of sassafras and maple stacked, and with some standing deadwood, that should cover me for 18/19. Most recently css'd was beech and oak for 19/20. Even though my stacks are full and I have the 3yrs banked, I'm still on the lookout for more. I have standing deadwood (maple, ash, oak - one tree each about a cord total, onsite). I also have eyes on standing deadwood in the yards of friends and family. That'll all be felled and moved this fall. So, I'll have onsite "inventory" to refill stacks as soon as they are emptied during the next heating season. I also have a number of very large red oaks along the property line, but not on my property. I have the assurance of the abutter, that I can take the wood. probably, 3-4 cords in total. But, they are 80-90 feet high, and about 3-4 foot DBH. So, it'll cost some $'s to have then taken down safely. The branches are encroaching over my property, including driveway and screen house. So, they are good candidates to be taken down. It does feel good to be in this position. I can now focus on fishing! Look out ocean, here I come

Good job Mike, when you work hard on your stacks you have something to stand back and look at. It gives us satisfaction and pride of a job well done, of course at the end of the day as you do your walk around the stacks for an inspection, a nice cold beer just makes it all that much better. Cheers to three years!

NIce work! I am on the one year plan still. Blew through about 15 cord this year as close as I can figure it... Three year plan will take an awful lot of doing, but a man can dream, right?
Awesome job! What you'll really like is only needing to replace what you burn in a year and always being at the same point ahead on wood! Small lot for storage will likely keep you at the 3 year mark, but a little more wouldn't really hurt........ Cheers!
