It's been a beautiful day so far. It appears the rain, if any will be after 9pm. So we'll probably have a little fire on the patio.

Have a great Memorial Weekend everyone... :campfire:

Seems I've been thinking about my Dad a lot lately. WWII Battle of the Bulge tank sarge. Spent his life after WWII making sure he always did a little bit more, because so many never came home. Real gentleman. Miss him a lot...

We had our fire on the patio last night. That Austrian pine sure smelled great choochin' away into the atmosphere.

It started to rain about 11pm. Just about when we ran out of the wood I brought up for that night's fire anyway. We listened to a bunch of music.

So the timing was great regarding the rain.

It's raining this am. It's supposed to until noon. Thunder and lightning going on too.

    Happy Birthday bocefus78

Gorgeous morning with clear skies and wonderful sunrise. Going over to Mom's today to do some finishing work on the entry project and get some more gardening done. Everything is very lush with all the rain we have had this spring so lots of gardening to catch up on. Mom has two huge holly trees that has provided millions of babies throughout her property. They are everywhere. I just haven't found one that produces berries that is small enough to dig up and take home yet. Anyone know how old a holly bush needs to be before producing berries? Also how old must a plum tree be before producing fruit. Her very old plum tree has spawned two newer ones and they are about 9 to 10 ft tall. If they don't flower this spring, I may just take them down.

    Great picture Stinny.

Here is my father. Served as a navigator on C97's flying out of Travis Air Force base to Japan right after Korea.

Will be posting his flag tomorrow.

I bet your enjoying the color photos of WWII that are now available. I think some old movies have been digitally colored too. I'm with ya D on WWII info... the things that were done in the US to support the war effort were unbelievable too. Can never be forgotten...

Well just got back from back at home, went with Mom and Dad to put flowers at the two cemeteries... it's always a good day of thoughts and laughter of the good times and to reflect on the people who they were before your time... never seems to get old... now it's time for some BBQ Hamburgers tonight:grizz:, since I have to work tomorrow.... Also can't forget the liquid to go with the BBQ...
