Just picked up a Leinenkugels Winter variety 12 pack. Going to be breaking into that pretty quick.

Need to bring some firewood in first. Wife said she's cold. House got down to 66 when I had the furnace off earlier doing the cleaning. I'll get it up to 75 in here in no time with the furnace and wood eater both going.

Broke open a bag of the Ozarks. Here are my first impressions.

They smell good. Almost like Somersets. They remind me of fresh cut red oak. They're a lot darker than the Pro Pellets I've been burning.

Very few fines. I dumped the last bit of the bag into a colander that I use for sifting out the bottom if the bag.

The only downside is there are a lot of long pellets. No monsters like the 2010 AWFs, but many that are upwards of 1.25".

    We'll see how they burn.

Sump pump failed overnight. Woke up this morning to 3-4 inches of water in the basement. It was just pouring in with all the snow melting, and the old pump finally gave up. I had actually already bought a Basement Watchdog system from Lowes, but hadn't gotten around to installing it yet. Oops.

Spent the day pulling stuff out of the basement, drying up water, etc. Not fun. I hope I never have to do that again. I'm exhausted, but not ready to go to bed because the new sump pump has acted up a few times. Running smoothly for the last 2.5 hours, but having a hard time trusting it enough to go to sleep yet. Wish it would freeze over again and slow this snow melt. Water is still pouring into the sump. Please get cold outside. Please no more snow.

I hope you get an end to your problem. Need to make a water well and put a sump in it, have a batter back up. Mine can't flood as one end is above grade. I had a spring thaw come in through the hole in the floor where the water from the well comes in. That destroyed the flooring. and stained the walls up a short distance. I took a $4 can of spray foam insulation and put an end to that problem. When the ground thawed, we put a drain pipe in. It has been 17 years and no more water issues.
