Our Family's new cottage

My parents just closed on a cottage on Lake Ontario. I'm headed over there now to check it out and pick up my copy of the key. More pics to follow!

 

I can see a lot of wood furniture in that cottages future!

How large is the lot size?

I really hope you don't have dunks or party people for neighbors. They take all the fun out of staying at the cottage!

The cottage:

 

Nice looking cottage. Looks comfortable, who will cut the grass?

 

Ha! Finally someone with a bedroom in their cottage that is actually smaller than mine!

1. Yard looks great.

2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Quite cozy, but I don't see any accommodations for heating the place...you know...like a wood stove? Well, not yet anyway!

I've got all sort of plans for it already...a large deck to be converted into a screen porch....looks like there is enough room for a pull out bed/couch/sleeper in that front room?

How are the biting flies down there in the summer?

 

Yeah, and it almost looks like the waves have even reached the cottage. But, my folks had to buy flood insurance; and so if it gets washed out to sea, well the lot is pretty deep and I'd estimate about a 20' grade behind the cottage so we could just rebuild on higher ground. I think the lot was like 75' wide and 250' deep. It would be a shame to lose it though, it's a pretty cute place I think. I don't like some of the color choices but it's summer-y.

Dang it Larry... I guess we'll all just pitch in together and see how that works out... I'm sure my Dad will put that on the cottage checklist pretty soon.

Wait hold on a minute I didn't disclose the address did I? Sounds like you're ready to move in already! It's mine! My cottage! You got your own already!

Yeah I was looking for a place for the stove already though. There's actually another bedroom that I didn't get a pic of - it was just an kind of an empty room. The couch does pull out to a bed and just fits.

The place next door is for sale too and it has this sweet log cabin shed and a mural painted on the front. Amy says I should buy it.

If you zoom in and look close enough you can see me in the background of the first pic waving from Canada. You're due south of me.

 

Ya, you sort of did with the state park nearby. just goggle it and up comes the road you are on and a birds eye view of all the homes. As for the lawn, consider a couple sheep!
