It's a damm shame that they cancelled the Blue Angels' airshow schedule this year.. Some good footage of both Pensacola and their winter training grounds in El Centro, CA.. Definitely an experience to see them in person. And they're even better when you're sober.. Okay.. Maybe not. Wouldn't let me embed the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=zsXCs41DkWs http://www.blueangels.navy.mil/show/
Yeah it is... Ive been able to see them and the Thunderbirds over the years, amazing shows both.. Heres hoping the silliness gets straightened out soon...
Its pathetic that they will close down patriotic things like the Airshow and the national monuments, but all of the house, senate, Pres, etc. all get their normal rates of pay......business as usual. This is sad.....very sad. Especially when their fiscal irresponsibility is what's to blame for the shutdown to begin with........BOTH SIDES. OK, no more politics.........find a happy place, everybody......
I feel the same way and was b$*#&$ about it, somebody pointed out to me that is done on purpose however so that neither party could use a shutdown as a means to withhold pay to elected officials as bargaining blackmail to force compromise. No idea how valid that is but I guess I can see a (grudging) point in it. [/politics off]
Love the Blue Angels, definitely a highlight of my childhood summers growing up on Lake Washington. Here's hoping they get back to the shows soon.
My son , Army parachute team, was a trainer for them. He has been reposted to some other position in the Seattle area was at Ft Cambell, KY. So the up shot is this was in the planning stage 8 months or more ahead of time.
